"An all-terrain vehicle (ATV) driven in B.C. does not count as an 'automobile' under Ontario law, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) has determined.
In Alana Bray and ING Insurance Company of Canada, Alana Bray was injured in June 2001 as a result of falling from an ATV she was operating in British Columbia, near the Whistler Ski Resort.
As a dependent of her mother, Bray applied for accident benefits from her mother's insurer, ING Insurance Company of Canada.
ING denied benefits, saying the ATV in B.C. did not fall under the definition of an 'automobile' under Ontario's statutory accident benefits scheme."

TheSpec - New controversy, old debate
"The deer hunt on Hamilton Conservation Authority land is far from being the first time rights of natives have rubbed up against those of recreation lovers, residents and sport hunters who are not permitted to kill wild game in the area.
It’s also not the first time a government body has given its blessing to natives for temporary and exclusive deer hunting rights in a public park-like setting."
This happens all over Ontario, OTC encourages understanding of when hunting is occurring and that all users respect and expect other users.

Clubs scramble to open trails - Owen Sound Sun Times - Ontario, CA
"Snowmobile clubs are scrambling to open trails to make the most of the heavy snowfalls that have hit the area, Randy Walker, the president of the Stoney Keppel Riders, said Saturday.
'We got a pile of snow and a lot of clubs got caught. They didn't get everything done,' he said. 'What has to happen for trails to open is we have to start grooming and packing, but the big thing is we have to ensure all our signs are in place.'"

Ready, set, go — on a dog-sled tour through forest - One Tank Trips - The Buffalo News
"HALIBURTON FOREST AND WILDLIFE RESERVE, Ont.—“The first rule of dogsledding is to hang on, and the second is not to let go,” quips Emily Kurvell, our guide. She makes it sound easy, but looking at the 18 huskies yelping wildly and straining at their leashes, I’m more than a little nervous.
The younger drivers in our group don’t seem to have the same apprehension. Two young girls from Florida in shiny new snowsuits are jumping up and down and seem as eager to go as the dogs are.
“The dogs love it!” says Kurvell. “It’s what they’re bred to do.”"
