Development News
There was a recent meeting of stakeholders to the Ontario Place Revitalization Stakeholder Advisory Committee meeting. We truly appreciate the feedback and comments on the developed design of the urban park and waterfront trail. As I mentioned at the meeting, we will be sending you a draft meeting summary for your review and feedback.
Our next SAC meeting will be held later this spring/summer and will provide a preview of the final park and trail design.
Also, we hope you will be able to join us at our upcoming public meeting on Wednesday, March 19th
If you are unable to attend in-person, we encourage you to access the meeting via webcast or participate in our online consultation component,  available until March 31st.  I would appreciate your help in spreading the word  through your various channels and networks about this exciting project and our upcoming public consultation opportunities.
Feel free to contact Alena Grunwald (Alena.Grunwald@Ontario.ca) or myself should you have any questions. Thank you once again for your interest and commitment.

Job Opening. Forestry.

Legal Input Sought
Is there a law in Ontario you think needs to be changed? The Law Commission of Ontario (LCO) reviews existing provincial laws to see whether they can be improved or repealed or whether circumstances require new laws. We also review government policy and practices.

The LCO welcomes law reform proposals from individuals and organizations, including academics, jurists, lawyers, community and advocacy groups, labour organizations, businesses and members of the public. We are accepting proposals until March 21, 2014. This is the second and final call for proposals for projects to begin later this year and to take us into what we hope will be our third mandate beginning in January 2017.
Please be aware that the LCO does not provide funding for others to undertake projects, but undertakes Board-approved projects in-house.
For more information about making a proposal, and to find out how the LCO selects projects, see our website. See the range of projects we have completed and are undertaking now. You can learn about our funders and supporters and more about the LCO at www.lco-cdo.org.

Ready for adventure.

Hello Blog Readers.

We are Corrie and Shawn, two travelling Canadians that love to explore our world a little off the well beaten path. We travel to areas across Canada and the USA with our ATV’s to find remote and scenic trails that will allow us to discover new places and wildlife off the main tourist track.

Shawn rides a 1000 Canam Outlander and Corrie rides an 800 Canam Outlander. We are both originally from Northern Ontario and enjoy nature and the outdoors. We have been riding ATV’s for about 20 years and we have seen some amazing sights and met some of the most wonderful people in the process.

Home-base is Fenelon Falls, North Central Ontario, where we live on the Burnt River with our two Dachshunds - Lucy and Watson.

We proudly belong to the Kawartha ATV Association and encourage responsible and safe riding practises.

We decided to begin blogging our ATV Adventures for others to enjoy and to be able to access our GSP tracks in case they ever want to explore these areas.

We hope you enjoy reading about our latest adventures.

My 1000-Mile Great Lakes ISLAND Adventure continues -- and concludes -- this year.

I will visit islands in Lake Superior, Huron, and Ontario to complete this adventure.
In May, I will assist researchers on Isle Royale who are studing the Moose-Wolf interaction on this wild and remote island. This summer, I will kayak the Apostle Islands in Lake Superior.

For my Lake Huron exploration, I'll kayak the Les Cheneaux Islands and then hike on Manitoulin Island, the largest island in the Great Lakes basin (and the largest island on fresh water in the world).

On Lake Ontario, I'll kayak among the many islands in the eastern end of the lake and into the 1000 Islands of the St. Lawrence River.

If I have time, I may explore a couple of other islands, like Belle Isle in the Detroit River. This urban island is now being managed by the state of Michigan and is Michigan's newest state park.

Follow my journey on my blogand consider joining me for the finale.

This adventure will conclude on Mackinac Island on Sunday, October 26. I'm extending an invitation to join me in walking the final miles of this adventure on Mackinac Island.

If you'd like details, please e-mail me atLakeTrek@gmail.com with "LakeTrek ISLAND Finale Hike" in the subject and I'll put you on the list to receive more information.

Life should be an adventure!
