Trails have the ability to strengthen the local social fabric of the community. They tend to create a continuity of volunteers and opportunities for friendships, networking and exploration. Trails bring people together to share social values while participating in meaningful activities.

We are the only trail organization in Ontario filtering trail best practices on multi-use trails, promoting the safe use by all trail users across all activities.   We also share stories through our weekly newsletter, ‘Trail Wise’ and on our blog.   We hope you would help us through a donation or join the 160 other member organizations supporting our work in Ontario, for more and better trails in Ontario.   With your support, we can achieve this one trail at a time, making the case for all of Ontario's trails, together.     Host A Mayor's Walk in 2025! Ontario Trails "Mayor's Walk" are open to OTC member organizations to act as hosts for a walk on June 7, 2025. We are asking communities to share their enthusiasm for their local trails by inviting your mayor out for a walk on provincial trails day, June 7, 2025. With trails in 100's of Ontario Communities this is a great way to showcase your local support while enabling all the Mayor's and their trail friends to get out for a celebration of trails. Sign up sheet. We wish to thank the Town of Plympton-Wyoming, City of Welland, City of Orillia, Newmarket, Grimsby and Durham Region for expressing an interest in hosting a Mayor's Walk in 2025!  Ask for the event planning tool, email us at execdir@ontariotrails.ca Thanks everyone!    The OTC website has been renewed and updated for about 18 months.
