"Anyone up for a day or two (car camping) on the Black Sturgeon on the section immediately downstream of Black Sturgeon Lake on the last weekend of April? It is a clean wild water run (thanks to a chanel having been cleared for logging), of mostly I and II, with one rapid that requires some thought due to a small ledge. I don't know how pushy it will be, given the lack of snow this year, but with ice melt, it should still be a good run."

"The city is due to start a construction project to improve walking trails within High Park, May 17, temporarily closing the main path of the off-leash area, announced John Cleary and Tammy Reid, co-chairs of the High Park K9 Committee early this week.
The project, expected to be completed June 30, will see trails resurfaced, an improved drainage system installed and new fencing. Right now, it's a muddy mess, said Cleary."

"A 44-year-old Belleville man has been killed while riding all-terrain vehicle in the city's north end.

Insp. Marlene Gray said in a news release the man was riding the Arctic Cat ATV at about 7:55 p.m. Friday in a private lot near Highway 62 and Maitland Drive.

He lost control and was thrown from and then struck by the ATV, Gray said. He was not wearing a helmet."
