Well, our outdoor skating fell through, due to the extraordinarily warm conditions, however, we had a beautiful day yesterday on Kempenfelt Bay in Barrie, where we enjoyed some great outdoor time on frozen Lake Simcoe."

Off-roading in Parry Sound Ontario, fun for the whole family | Muchmor Magazine

"Ontario sits high on a ledge of rock and water – the great Canadian Shield. It’s a spectacular mix of geography that combines rugged Georgian Bay shoreline with hundreds of thousands of lakes the glaciers left behind in their haste to head south. No wonder the passion for exploration has permeated the culture here for hundreds of years."

Minister fails staged Q&A - Brantford Expositor - Ontario, CA

"Access by the public to Crown land in Northern Ontario is not an issue of a single snowmobiler using the wrong access to a park. It is about thousands of local citizens being refused access to thousands of miles of crown lands that they have had a traditional right to fish, hunt, hike, ATV, snowmobile and berry-pick in for decades. Brown, being from Northern Ontario, attempts to broach the issue himself in his supplemental, but to no avail."
Gaye Smith, Former Chairman Temagami Stewardship Council R.R.#3, Paisley, ON

Trails begin to open for snowmobiling - Midland Free Press - Ontario, CA

"A Orillia District Snowmobile Club trail groomer ended up stuck in a swamp Friday in Oro-Medonte, while crews were preparing to open the trail. Better them than a snowmobile though, says club president John Britten.

'The swamp wasn't frozen good enough,' Britten said on Friday. 'If a sled went through there, they would be stuck in there and it would just be a nightmare.'

The Uhthoff Trail running from Holcroft Road in the north end of Orillia to past Coldwater is the only Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) trail open in this area."

Trails opening for snowmobilers - Mitchell Advocate - Ontario, CA

"Despite a wet autumn and an early snow hindering trail preparation, signing and staking, most snowmobile trails are either now open or opening soon.

Forty years of weather and snowfall patterns and Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Club experience indicates that snow prior to Christmas will not last in much of Ontario, but this year seems to be the exception. The snow and cold temperatures have stayed, allowing area club to finish staking, signing and grooming the trails."
