Cobble Beach event features skiiers pulled by dog teams - Owen Sound Sun Times - Ontario, CA

"A new dogsledding and nordic skiing event at Cobble Beach next month is likely the first in Canada to host a nordic combined competition, event Chair Sasha Fernando said Friday.

Participants will ski behind a sled, or pulk, pulled by two dogs for part of the race, which also includes skijoring. The Norwegian term describing a person pulled on skis by dogs means 'ski driving,' Fernando said."

"EMC News - The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police and Crime Stoppers need your help to solve the following break enter and thefts. Barns have been the target of thieves recently, as two barns were entered and horseback riding equipment stolen.

One barn on Cobus Road in Horton Township was entered overnight on Dec. 6. Stolen property includes a saddle, bridles and other horse related equipment. The second break-in occurred overnight again on Dec. 6 at a barn on Cheese Factory Road in Admaston/Bromley Township. Again horse related materials were stolen."
