Get Out There Magazine Announces Winners of 2013 Readers' Choice Awards

January 20, 2013 (Toronto, Ontario) Today Get Out There Magazine announced the winners of its 8 annual Readers’ Choice Awards, which recognizes the people, places, events and organizations that support active living in Canada.
The coveted RCAs are awarded in over thirty different categories – spanning everything from best marathon to favourite adventure race, and are broken down into Eastern Canada, Western Canada and National awards. Winners are determined by the highest number of reader votes cast in each category.
In 2013 over 1,900 readers cast votes.
Notable winners this year include the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon (Eastern Canada) and the Manitoba Marathon (Western Canada) as “Best Marathons”, the Around the Bay 30K Road Race (Eastern Canada) and the new Vancouver Eastside 10K (Western Canada) as “Best Running Event”. The RBC GranFondo Whistler and Cycle 4 Sight took top honours as Western Canada’s “Best Cycling Event”.
Complete results of the 2013 Readers’ Choice Awards have been published in the February issue of Get Out There Magazine, which hits the streets February 1. Results are also available at the bottom of this document.
Voting will open for the 2014 Readers’ Choice Awards next month and will be open through December 1, 2014. Organizations are invited to let their supporters know about the Awards and encourage them to vote.
