Looking back at the last six months of 2010 - Collingwood Enterprise Bulletin - Ontario, CA
"Long-time parks and recreation director for the Town of Collingwood, Peter Dunbar, retires after 27 years. Dunbar tells the E-B he jumped at the opportunity to work for the town: 'It was the potential to have an impact,' said Dunbar. 'I have lots of friends in Toronto in the rec business, but going to Toronto would have meant being buried in a pile of bureaucracy. Here I had the opportunity to push the edge and try new ideas.' Under his direction, the recreation department evolved into the Department of Leisure Services, responsible for more than 20 parks -- including ball diamonds and soccer pitches --the arena, curling club, an outdoor pool, a fitness centre, and more than 70 kilometres of walking and cycling trails."
