"It's unprecedented. Global warming has wreaked havoc on Ontario ski areas in recent years, but this year, Batawa Ski Hill will be open early, sending the first skiers and snowboarders up the lift on Saturday morning.
The deep freeze that has gripped Ontario and dumped record-breaking amounts of snow on some areas has given Batawa optimal snow-making temperatures, allowing staff to make what Mother Nature didn't — several feet of snow."
