Finally, if anyone has doubts about the value of wearing a helmet while cycling, all you need to do is look at mine. It is cracked through in two places, but all I suffered were deep cuts that needed stitching, bruising and scrapes. I am absolutely certain that had I not been wearing a helmet, I would have suffered brain damage, or be dead!"
