Timmins Snowmobile Club reports ‘pretty good’ season despite late snowfall

Deteriorating snow and ice conditions may be a positive sign of spring — except for avid snowmobilers in the Timmins area.As of Thursday, area Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Club (OFSC) trails are closed, following what Timmins Snowmobile Club officials are calling a "pretty good" season.
"Considering the amount of snow we got this winter, and the fact that we got most of it later, the operators did an awesome job," said club president Gilbert Fortin.
He added although memberships in Timmins were about 5% less this year than the previous year, provincewide the OFSC saw an increase in riders.
