"For several years now the Arbor Week Committee has been compiling a list of 'Trees of Distinction' in Sarnia-Lambton, and it believes more residents would take note of these special species if they were linked on a bike tour. The sugar maple at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Christina Street on the edge of Tarzanland, one of the redbuds in Terry Fox Park at the corner of London Road and Mitton Street, and the very large branching Scots pine in the Veteran's Memorial section of Lakeview Cemetery visible from Colborne Road, are just some of the trees that have made the list.
'These are very large, old, rare or flowering trees that are distinguished examples of their kind in Sarnia,' said Brenda Lorenz, of the Sarnia Lambton Arbor Week Committee."
