"For its long-standing commitment to conserving environmentally-sensitive lands within the community, the Cataraqui Conservation Foundation (CCF) recently awarded Loyalist Township with its Community Award.
A special awards ceremony took place on Earth Day, April 22, at the Outdoor centre at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area just outside Kingston.
Other conservation awards were handed out to Dr. James McCowan, who received the Citizenship Awards, the Queen's University Biological Station received the Education Award, while Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority general manager Steve Knechtel picked up the Stewart Fyfe Conservation Award."
