Town can keep rail trail funds for related projects | www.citizen.on.ca | Orangeville Citizen

"The Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RlnC) Program in Ontario and the Ontario Recreation Program (Ontario REC) have agreed to let Orangeville keep the funding it received for the terminated rail side trail project and use it for other projects.

The Canada-Ontario Recreational Infrastructure Joint Secretariat considered the town’s recommendation that the $220,000 in funds be directed instead towards the town’s “missing links” project. It decided this project complies with the terms and conditions of the joint federal/provincial recreational infrastructure funding program.

The project recommendations were voted in at Monday night’s public council meeting.

Missing link One is the section on C-Line from Brenda Blvd. to Broadway. Missing link Two is the section on Riddell Road between Alder Street and Montgomery Boulevard."
