Take a bird walk Saturday - Northumberland Today - Ontario, CA

"In celebration of International Migratory Bird Day Saturday, the partners of the Rice Lake Plains Joint Initiative are leading an outdoor excursion and free family workshop on local birds and how to conserve and restore their habitat.


Elizabeth Kellogg will lead a morning walk through the Alderville Black Oak Savanna, looking at the grassland birds of the Rice Lake Plains. The workshop that follows will feature Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources avian biologist Patrick Hubert, whose topic will be Bird Conservation: Protection, Partnerships and Possibilities. Alderville Black Oak Savanna education-and-outreach co-ordinator Janine McLeod will also discuss grassland sparrows."
