Well, it seems like a late April Fool's joke, but reports of some access points in Algonquin being ice free have been confirmed. Jeff Ridpath, host of www.canoelake.ca recently made a posting that Canoe Lake, Smoke Lake, and Joe Lake are all ice free. Hopefully today's weather will provide a clear satellite photo. Rain and winds from a recent system seem to have done a number on ice conditions in Algonquin.
