It develops eight sustainability principles. They are, to create: walkable, transit-supportive neighbourhoods through compact development, mixed-use development and parks and recreational facilities; a transit, cycling and pedestrian supportive urban system; and opportunities for job creation, especially on the employment lands, concurrent with residential growth."
